Upgrades!

Posted by Lihallerix - June 19th, 2024

My health is currently a bit better than it was last time, its still not good, and I still need to fight doctors over it.

But on other notes, I am going to upgrade my computer. Between my health and brainfog, its no small feat as I intend to learn how to build it myself to truly maximize the value I can get out of it!

Why am I updating my computer?

Because my current one, old and grey, is slowly dying. It is also unable to do many of the functions Clip studio offers. Liquify lags so bad its impossible to use, the screen goes black when i'm saving my work, any brush over 300pi LAGS if it has the slightest texture to it. Some simple filters can take 30 seconds to 3 minutes to apply, I also cant work on a canvas larger than an a4.

And this limits what I can make a great bit.

In the meanwhile, as Im studying all from GPU’s to chassis, I will be doing studies to improve my art yet rest my brain, doing my best to mimic references in one to two hours. As I will be generally making a little less content I will also be posting a lot of work from back when I made art for Wanderword!

Commissions and art trades are also on pause until I got my new rig ordered and put together, and trust me when I say the wait will be worth it, even if it's going to be a lot of work on my end.

Oh wow, yeah definitely sounds like you need an upgrade. Though, I do hope you're doing okay medically. Sounds like you've been through quite a bit.

Medically I'm currently in a "good enough to function at home" state. Its not where I want to be, but its far far better than what it was two months ago. However my bloodtests shows the values arnt where my doctors want them to be, they did a huge jump up that wasnt expected. So the doctors want to lower my meds and I hope to try to convince them that its more worth while living in the now than still being around in bed when I'm 60+

That or hope whatever happened with my bloodtests was a weird fluke.

I appreciate the concern, know that I will fight my health every step of the way. ;)

@Lihallerix That's genuinely heartbreaking. But I agree with you. It's better to actually enjoy life, even if may ultimately cut it shorter. Than not enjoying life, but being around longer. But then again, it is far easier for me to say that since I'm not in your shoes. I hope I'm reading the situation right. But I do wish you the best with whatever ends up happening with the medication.

I full heartedly agree though. Id rather be able to have the energy to spend time with friends, and be able to be active in my every day life and have a shorter life. The pain of the past is a suffering that's just not worth living in.

Thank you for your support <3
